Our Promise: Petal is completely offline. We do NOT collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your data. Everything stays on your iPhone, always.

📊 Information We Collect

Short answer: Nothing. Petal does not collect any personal data whatsoever.

🔒 Data Storage & Security

All your data is stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage:

SQLite Database: Period logs, daily entries, and cycle data are stored in a local SQLite database on your iPhone
AsyncStorage: App settings and preferences are stored locally
No Cloud: There is no server, no cloud backup, and no account system
No Network: Petal does not make any network requests (except for In-App Purchase via Apple's StoreKit)

What this means: If you delete the app, all your data is permanently removed. There is no way to recover it because we never had a copy.

🚫 What We Do NOT Do

We want to be absolutely clear:

No Data Collection: We collect zero personal data
No Tracking: No analytics, no usage tracking, no device fingerprinting
No Advertising: No ads, no ad networks, no ad tracking
No Third-Party SDKs: No Firebase, no Amplitude, no Mixpanel, no tracking SDKs
No Accounts: No sign-up, no login, no email collection
No Server Communication: The app works entirely offline
No Data Sharing: We cannot share what we don't have

🛒 In-App Purchases

Petal offers an optional one-time In-App Purchase to unlock all features after the free trial period. This purchase is processed entirely by Apple's App Store:

Payment is handled by Apple - we never see your payment details
Purchase status is stored locally on your device
We do not receive any personal financial information

🔔 Notifications

Petal can send you local notifications to remind you about upcoming periods and ovulation:

All notifications are local - they are scheduled on your device, not sent from a server
No push notification service or token is involved
You can disable notifications at any time in the app settings or iOS Settings

👶 Children's Privacy

Petal is designed for individuals who menstruate, typically ages 12 and older. Since we do not collect any data whatsoever, there is no risk of collecting children's personal information. However, this app is not targeted at children under 13.

🌍 Your Rights

Since Petal does not collect, store, or process any personal data on our servers, traditional data rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) are handled directly by you on your device:

Access: All your data is visible within the app
Deletion: Delete the app to remove all data, or use "Delete All Data" in Settings
Portability: Your data lives on your device and is under your control
